She was involved in all areas of administration, including staff and board leadership, fiscal management, fundraising, interagency relations, and program development. Ms. McManus has been a strong proponent of women's empowerment, especially for women of color. She has served on the Board of Directors of the CHAHARA Foundation, the National Association of People with AIDS (as Secretary) and the Advisory Boards of the Ms. Foundation, the U.S. Public Health Service Office for Women's Health and until recently served on the Boston Ryan White Planning Council.
